“Problem-employees” appear where are “problem-bosses”

1

Carmen Ciciu (34) and Raluca Stroescu (31 years) died in March 2010 and April 2007 – these are two extreme cases of physical and mental breakdowns caused by excessive work, which attracted both media and the authority’s attention, in Romania. At the other extreme are the employees, whose name do not appear in the newspapers, but who are accused of inefficiency and incompetence.

What generates these two situations? Surprisingly, though diametrically opposed the underlying cause seems to be the same. According to the General Manager of CBC Romania, Petre Nicolae, the problem is caused by the way the company is organized and run rather than an individual issue.

Whether they wear the title of managers, executives or owners, the decision maker’s representatives of top management in the organization are responsible for issues with employees. Overuse or lack of productivity and inefficiency are generated to a considerable extent by bosses.

The disaster of a bad head-hunting process

petre 1

We probably all wondering what a head-hunting process is and what risks it poses?! Well, in most cases head-hunting in Romania is a short research step in which an employee is hunted based on his potential of being a critical resource and has shown great results in a company.

In some inspired situations, we meet with this person, usually “Out of Office” take lunch or dinner and try to see if, besides the results shows calibrating elements with the organization for which recruitment is done.

What happens right?! Fits well with the new organizational environment and achieves the expected results of the company and then head-hunting process is a success.

What is going wrong? Because of lack of skill in recruitment and headhunting, to be blinded by “extraordinary results” of our candidate and after a period of three or six months we want to get rid of him. And then, the process is missed, ie, a disaster for the company, the employees, the Director of Human Resources or the head-hunting company and ultimately for the new employee.

Management by Objectives

managementul prin obiective

The most used system of setting sales, acquisition or production targets, strategic decision-making and especially the strategic control of the company, is management by objectives or MBO (Management by Objectives).

The term management by objectives (MBO) was introduced by Peter Drucker in 1954 in The Practice of Management and has been called purpose management or results based management.

The essence of this type of management (MBO) is the creation and implementation of a set of mechanisms and procedures, able to help business owners or employees from the top management to establish their clear and complete coordinates for the development and consolidation of a business (for more info, study www.cbc.ro or contact CBC Romania and you will receive all the necessary information).

CBC Romania: The classical approach in training doesn’t work anymore

Costel Dragan, Florin Porojan, Adrian Sandu

Because the classical approach does not work in training in 2013, the integrated transformational training was the solution for those companies that did not want half measures, but an approach based on consultancy methodologies and mechanisms, said to wall-street.ro Petre Nicolae, managing partner in the training and consultancy company CBC Romania.

The year 2013 was for CBC Romania beyond our expectations. Trasformational Integrated Training programs already initiated in previous years continued and were supplemented with additional modules for assessment, training and coaching. Besides customers from previous years, which were already ongoing to integrated programs, were signed contracts with new customers who realized the need for an integrated approach.
Because the classical approach does not work in training in 2013, the integrated transformational training was the solution for those companies that did not want half measures, but an approach based on consultancy methodologies and mechanisms, said Petre Nicolae.

The managers without business education will only succeed as much as the market allows them to

29

Managers who run businesses with turnover of tens or hundreds of millions of euros on the local market, but don’t receive a business education will be successful as long as the market will allow it. As competition will intensify, new business models will appear, putting pressure on profitability and as market share will increase so will the neccessity to refine business skills in  leading companies.

Native abilities of those who have led local business sites will become scarce when the market competition will increase. In other words, managers who did not receive a business education will only succeed as long as the market will allow it, “says Petre Nicolae, general manager of the training and consulting company CBC Romania.
